Are you a student in Montpellier, Nîmes, or Perpignan? You can sponsor an international student. Your mission: to welcome, support, and guide them.

The ComUE LR-Universités and CROUS Montpellier-Occitanie are looking for new sponsors!

Imagine the stress of an international student arriving alone at the airport or train station in a country that is unfamiliar to them... Imagine the difficulties they face in finding their way around a city and a campus, completing certain tasks such as opening a bank account or setting up a phone line...

The result of a partnership between the Crous de Montpellier-Occitanie and the ComUE Languedoc-Roussillon Universités, international sponsorship is a personalized welcome program for foreign students who are studying abroad individually or through an exchange program and have recently arrived in Montpellier, Nîmes, or Perpignan.

Welcoming, supporting, and guiding international students upon their arrival in the city are the missions of the mentors at Parrainage International. During the first two months of their stay—in September and October 2019—the mentees are welcomed individually to help them successfully integrate into their place of study and their city.

International sponsorship is a free program based on volunteer work.

What are the requirements to become a sponsor?

be a student (French or foreign);
have completed at least one year of study in Montpellier, Nîmes, or Perpignan;
be fluent in French and have a good knowledge of English and/or Spanish;
have some free time (approximately 20 hours between September and October 2019).
