Are you a student in Montpellier, Nîmes or Perpignan? You can sponsor a foreign student. Your mission: to welcome, accompany and guide them.

ComUE LR-Universités and CROUS de Montpellier-Occitanie are looking for new sponsors!

Imagine the stress of an international student arriving alone at the airport or train station in an unfamiliar country... Imagine the difficulties of finding your way around a city or campus, or taking care of certain formalities such as opening a bank account or phone line...

The result of a partnership between the Crous de Montpellier-Occitanie and the ComUE Languedoc-Roussillon Universités, international sponsorship is a personalized welcome scheme for foreign students on individual mobility or exchange programs, newly arrived in Montpellier, Nîmes or Perpignan.

Welcoming, accompanying and guiding foreign students from the moment they arrive in the city - these are the missions of the International Sponsorship godparents. During the first 2 months of their stay - in September and October 2019 - the godchildren are welcomed individually to help them successfully integrate into their place of study and their city.

International sponsorship is a free, volunteer-based scheme.

What are the conditions for becoming a sponsor?

be a student (French or foreign);
have completed at least one year of studies in Montpellier, Nîmes or Perpignan ;
proficiency in French and good knowledge of English and/or Spanish;
have some free time (around 20 hours between September and October 2019).
