Center for Functional and Evolutionary Ecology (CEFE)
The CEFE project aims to understand the dynamics, functioning, and evolution of life, from “bacteria to elephants” and “from the genome to the planet.”
It is based on three goals:
- understand the living world in order to anticipate what tomorrow will bring;
- lead to innovations and meet society's expectations;
- to pursue a science that brings people together and embraces a diverse range of disciplinary approaches.
These research questions are posed against a backdrop marked by sweeping global changes, the development of new biotechnology, and society’s growing demand for research.
