Institute of Functional Genomics (IGF)

The Institute for Functional Genomics (IGF) is a multidisciplinary research center.

The IGF's main activity is devoted to fundamental research based on functional genomics to explore normal and pathological processes of cellular signaling and communication in various fields, particularly neurobiology, cardiology, endocrinology, and oncology.

The main activities range from structural pharmacology to systems biology, from the development of preclinical disease models to translational research, in order to study various pathologies, including neurological and psychiatric diseases, cardiac dysfunction, diabetes, and cancer.

One of the main objectives of the IGF is to identify new concepts in molecular medicine and evaluate new strategies for the development of diagnostic and therapeutic tools.
