Institute of Functional Genomics (IGF)
The Institute of Functional Genomics (IGF) is a multidisciplinary research center.
The IGF’s primary focus is on basic research using functional genomics to explore normal and pathological cellular signaling and communication processes in various fields, particularly neurobiology, cardiology, endocrinology, and oncology.
The main activities range from structural pharmacology to systems biology, and from the development of preclinical disease models to translational research, all aimed at studying various diseases, including neurological and psychiatric disorders, cardiac dysfunction, diabetes, and cancer.
One of the IGF's main objectives is to identify new concepts in molecular medicine and to evaluate new strategies for developing diagnostic and therapeutic tools.
