Laboratory of Pathogens and Host Immunity (LPHI)

The research conducted by the LPHI teams aims to advance our understanding of biological membranes, particularly in the context of parasitic (malaria, toxoplasmosis), bacterial (tuberculosis, salmonellosis, staphylococcal infections), and viral (antiviral defenses) infectious processes.

The LPHI unit focuses on high-quality, innovative basic research in the field of biology. The research is based on integrated approaches that draw on genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, structural biology, and in vitro and in vivo cell biology.

The laboratory collaborates with chemists and hosts a team of theorists, physicists, and mathematicians in order to combine biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics in comprehensive or targeted multidisciplinary approaches to the biological processes under study.
