Translational Research on HIV and Endemic and Emerging Infectious Diseases (TransVIHMI)
The originality of the TransVIHMI UMI lies in its multidisciplinary approach, whose initial main objective is to study the specific characteristics of HIV and associated diseases, particularly tuberculosis, from an epidemiological, virological, bacteriological, parasitological, clinical, and social perspective. The unit has shifted its focus to non-HIV infections, not only in the context of HIV co-infection, but also to neglected and emerging tropical diseases. More recent work has led to the development of a new area of research and intervention in the context of the response to epidemics (EBOLA).
