Actors, Resources, and Territories in Development (ART-Dev)

The ART-Dev Joint Research Unit explores the links between territories and contrasting development dynamics. The analysis of these links takes into account resource mobilization, as well as the strategies and configurations of actors that influence public policy, the economy, and the environment. ART-Dev’s scientific focus encompasses several thematic areas (rural, urban, environment, energy, migration, transportation, etc.) and diverse geographic regions (North and South).
One of the unit’s unique features is its ability to compare regions in the South and North, as well as contrasting situations within the same country. Its current scientific project is structured around three research areas and a cross-cutting program:
- Axis 1: Rural Restructuring and Public Policy;
- Axis 2: Natural Resources and Environmental Regulation;
- Theme 3: Interfaces, Anchors, and Circulation in Globalization
Cross-cutting Program: Asymmetries, Public Policy, and Scales of Action.
