# Science Is Fun: From the Psychology of Social Distancing to Quarantine Bugs
Welcome to *La science s’aMuse*, the science show co-produced by UM and Divergence-FM, which takes you on a tour of the Muse laboratory complex. Today we’re stopping at EuroMov, where Yannick Stephen explores the link between psychological traits and adherence to safety protocols. In the second half of the show, Magali Eychenne gives us a tour of the quarantine insect facility.

Welcome aboard the UM cruise ship bound for the Euromov laboratory. Make yourself comfortable on one of the sofas provided. Take a deep breath and dive into the intricacies of human psychology. Last June, The European Journal of Personality published an article examining the role our various personality traits might play in the behavioral responses we develop in response to the health guidelines implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic. A study conducted in the United States with over 2,000 participants byFlorida State University and the University of Montpellier.
Does the fact that you are slightly emotionally unstable, extroverted, or empathetic influence your willingness to wash your hands or wear a mask? Did your self-discipline or your anger unconsciously guide your toilet paper stockpiling during lockdown? Our guest today tells you everything. We discuss this with Yannick Stephen, a researcher in health psychology at the Euromov laboratory.
In the second half of the program, we’ll take you to the Triolet campus to explore the PIQ platform—short for the Insect Quarantine Platform—and Magali Eychenne from the Diversity, Genomes, and Microorganism-Insect Interactions Laboratory will be our guide.
