[LUM#9] Pollution

Chemical industry waste, pharmaceuticals, endocrine disruptors, microplastics—the traces left by human activity are now everywhere: in water, in soil, and in all living organisms. How can we tackle pollution to protect our planet? This ninth issue of Lum magazine devotes its special feature to this critical challenge.
Chemists, agronomists, and ecologists—many researchers at the University of Montpellier are working to find solutions to this challenge. Whether it’s treating wastewater for reuse or gaining a better understanding of how greenhouse gases affect the nutritional quality of plants, each researcher is contributing to a vital collective effort and offering hope for new possibilities for the future of every species.
Also in this issue: promising research on combating chronic pain, findings on how exercise can help preserve your personality, and an amazing flying boat…
But first, dive into the waters of the Pacific Ocean alongside researchers from Géosciences Montpellier who have set out to study the Maupiti lagoon.
