[LUM#9] Pollution

Chemical industry waste, pharmaceuticals, endocrine disruptors, microplastics—the traces left behind by human activity are now everywhere. In water, in soil, in all living organisms. How can we tackle pollution to preserve our planet? This ninth issue of Lum magazine is dedicated to this immense challenge.

Chemists, agronomists, ecologists—many researchers at the University of Montpellier are seeking solutions to this challenge. Whether it's purifying wastewater so it can be reused or better understanding the impact of greenhouse gases on the nutritional quality of plants, each person is contributing to a vital collective effort and offering hope for new prospects for the future of every species.

Also in this issue: promising research into combating chronic pain, revelations about how exercise can help preserve your personality, an astonishing flying boat...

But first, dive into the waters of the Pacific Ocean with researchers from Géosciences Montpellier who have gone to study the Maupiti lagoon.
