Educational innovation

Content type : Page
At the University of Montpellier, educational innovation is now a reality. The years of the MUSE I-SITE have been seminal in this respect. Innovating pedagogy means encouraging a change in attitude on the part of those involved in university teaching. It also means transforming the spaces in which teaching takes place, and experimenting with new, ever more innovative methods. It's a profound change in the usual paradigms of knowledge transmission, with the aim of fostering the professional development of teachers and integrating students into the process. But innovation also means transmitting and disseminating knowledge, and for this we need to observe transformations and measure the impact of implementation. This innovative approach to teaching is part of the training strategy put forward by the President of the University of Montpellier and implemented by the VP CFVU. It is embodied in the creation of the Service Commun de Soutien à l'Innovation Pédagogique. The Centre de Soutien aux Innovations Pédagogiques (CSIP): stimulating change The CSIP, backed by the experience gained during the I-SITE MUSE years, is resolutely committed to working alongside teachers and Professors wishing to transform their teaching methods. The CSIP is a vision, since without denying transmissive pedagogies, it is around interactive pedagogies that combine students, teachers, researchers, pedagogical spaces and technologies that its mission is exercised. The aim is to facilitate the co-construction of skills and knowledge. CSIP's value lies in implementing pedagogies centered on human interaction, because learning is a life path where a multitude of pedagogical opportunities intersect, meet and share. Finally, CSIP is an experimental approach, rooted in the reality of 21st-century teaching. Website The Observatoire de la Transformation Pédagogique (OTP) The OTP conducts studies to gain a better understanding of the pedagogical practices of university teachers, how they are changing and what impact they have on student success. Students' perceptions of teaching practices are at the heart of these studies. They are carried out at the service of teachers and in collaboration with them. OTP website

OSIPE - Observatoire du Suivi et de l'Insertion Professionnelle des Étudiants - is a department attached to SCUIO-IP which carries out a wide range of surveys and analyses. Its role is to provide useful information for the career guidance of young and future students. OSIPE also provides the university, teaching staff and the general public with information on student career paths and career opportunities. Who are the new students entering the university? OSIPE regularly conducts a specific survey to gain a better understanding of the characteristics of new students entering the UM. Information is gathered and analyzed on students' choice of course, their plans for the future, their motivation to study, the difficulties they encounter and other issues. This information is available in the form of summaries and detailed reports. What are the educational trajectories of UM students? OSIPE uses the information collected during the surveys and the University's (Apogée) and Ministry's (SISE) databases to observe students' choices of courses and further training. Information on the choices made by graduates of a Licence, Licence professionnelle or Master's degree to pursue and/or complete their studies is made available to the general public and to careers guidance professionals. What is the professional future of UM graduates? Every year, OSIPE conducts surveys on the future of former Bachelor's, Professional Bachelor's, Master's and PhD students in terms of their career path and professional situation after graduation. Discover the information gathered on this first phase of their working lives: the list of jobs held by graduates, the skills they can use and their job satisfaction.
