The University of Montpellier has been awarded the "Bienvenue en France" label for the quality of its welcome to international students.

You are a student participating in a credit transfer program

You are an exchange student and would like to study or do an internship at the University of Montpellier (Erasmus+ program, bilateral exchange, BCI program, etc.).

Erasmus

Each year, the University of Montpellier welcomes many students from all over the world as part of the Erasmus+ program. To participate in this program, you must be selected by your home university. Contact the international relations office for your field of study, which will provide you with information on the specific details of your mobility program, such as university housing, academic calendar, study contract, etc.

INTER-UNIVERSITY partnership agreements

The University of Montpellier has entered into partnership agreements with universities around the world.

Under these signed agreements, you can spend one or two semesters studying at our educational institutions.

You must:

  • be enrolled at your home university;
  • Your application will be announced by the International Relations Office of your home university to the International Relations Office of the faculty or department.
  • subscribe to French student social security unless you present your European Health Insurance Card or the France-Quebec SE401-Q106 form.

The benefits of the program:

  • exemption from registration fees at the host university;
  • recognition of your course of study at the University of Montpellier by your home university.
WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE BCI

The University of Montpellier participates in the BCI student exchange program.

To participate in this program, you must:

  • Be enrolled at your home university;
  • Successfully complete two years of study (L2);
  • Be able to cover transportation and accommodation costs;
  • Be selected by your university;
  • Fill out an educational contract with the professor in charge at your university and send it to the International Relations Office at the University of Montpellier.

Depending on availability and the consistency of the study contract, the application will be accepted or rejected. Accepted students will receive a letter of acceptance. The mobility period is one or two semesters.

The benefits of the program:

  • Tuition exemption at the University of Montpellier;
  • Recognition of the course of study completed at the University of Montpellier by your home university;
  • Exemption from student social security coverage in France upon presentation of form France–Quebec SE401-Q106.

You are a student on a degree-granting mobility program

Before preparing for your arrival in France, please contact the Campus France office in your country of origin. If your country is on the Campus France list, the procedure requires that applications be submitted to Campus France before you can consider enrolling at the University of Montpellier. Here you will find the "Study in France" procedure for applying according to your level of study.

Registrations

Your application has been accepted by the University of Montpellier following the Etudes en France procedure. If you would like more information about the registration process, please contact the registrar's office of your host department.

Tuition fees / registration fees

Tuition fees for a bachelor's degree for one academic year are €170, €243 for one year of a master's degree, €601 for one year of an engineering degree at an institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education, and €380 for one year of a doctoral degree.

French as a foreign language

To study French at a university in Montpellier, we recommend contacting the IEFE at Paul Valéry University or the CIHEAM-IAMM Language Center.

FINANCING YOUR STUDIES AND CAREER GUIDANCE
HEALTH

During the academic year, you will receive an email at your University of Montpellier institutional email address inviting you to attend a preventive health check-up at the Preventive Medicine Service. This appointment will be an opportunity to review your health and provide you with information about healthcare services in France and in your city of study. With this in mind, we invite you to come to France with all information and documents relating to your medical care in your country (health check-ups, vaccinations, copies of X-rays, etc.).
