Muscle dynamics and metabolism (MDM)
The DMEM laboratory is a joint research unit of INRA and the University of Montpellier.

We are interested in understanding the tissue, cellular, and molecular mechanisms that enable skeletal muscles to develop properly and adapt to their environment.
Our hypothesis is that abnormalities in the adaptation of muscle tissue to changes in the environment (diet, level of physical activity) can modulate the body's homeostasis and, more broadly, its state of health.
The DMEM is therefore a fundamental research unit whose goal is to advance our knowledge of the functioning and physiology of skeletal muscles. We are also open to possible applications of our research, as evidenced by our partnership with private companies interested in our findings.
