Voix pl'UM is an association of the University of Montpellier created in 2025.
The aim of the Voix pl'UM association is to promote the practice of choral singing in universities. In order to offer a complementary service to existing choirs, we have chosen to work on a pop-rock repertoire with original arrangements by our choirmaster Samuel Zaroukian.
The choir is open to students as well as UM staff and guests. There are three sections: men, altis and sopranos, so there's something for everyone. Most of the songs are familiar to everyone, and cover a period from the 60s to the present day (e.g. Norah Jones, Dépêche mode, Niagara, Philippe Katerine, Les Nuls, Serge Gainsbourg, Camelia Jordana, Farrel Williams).
We will be performing in concerts at the end of the year (at the UM and/or at festivals, in town and/or in the region).
When are rehearsals? Rehearsals take place on Tuesday lunchtimes from 12:30 to 2pm, starting September 23, 2025.
Where: At the University of Montpellier, Triolet site (place Eugène Bataillon), building 2, in the physics laboratory.
