Activities and Objectives of the Association The IAE Montpellier Student Union organizes several events and offers a variety of services. We participate in one-time events such as the Orientation Day organized by the IAE. We also organize events such as parties, breakfasts, and the Gala. To promote the #EspritIAE, we also participate in the IAE French Cup (CDF) to proudly represent Montpellier. And every day (or almost every day), we’re at La Bulle to answer your questions or grab a coffee.

Activities and Objectives of the Association The missions of the association “La ParenThèse,” established under the French Law of 1901, are: to combat student dropout rates and isolation during the process of writing academic papers (master’s theses, doctoral dissertations); to help students graduate more quickly; to enhance their employability, particularly by creating an interdisciplinary social and professional network during the writing process. To achieve this, team members organize three types of events that bring together between 10 and 15 student participants (in person) and about 40 students (online). These events are linked to the academic writing process: writing events (writing days, writing retreats, and mini-ParenThèses); support and exchange events (Plume Doc workshops, Master Classes); relaxation events (AfterThèse days in nature).

Group for Electronics, Electrical Engineering, and Automation in Robotics and Space (GEEARS)

Activities and Objectives of the Association Founded in 2017, the GEEARS association (Group for Electronics, Electrical Engineering, and Automation in Robotics and Space) aims to provide students at the University of Montpellier with access to facilities and tools that enable them to carry out projects. Our objectives: To introduce students to the worlds of electronics, robotics, and space technology. To give students the opportunity to apply their knowledge to real-world projects. To design and carry out projects from start to finish related to electronics, robotics, and/or space technology. To propose and support association-led or personal projects. To welcome and introduce students from diverse backgrounds—such as mechanical engineering, biology, computer science, and environmental studies—to electronics and embedded system programming.

Activities and Objectives of the Association Founded in 2006 by a group of students convinced of the fundamental role that each and every person plays in society, Ouvre-Tête is committed to helping everyone take an active role in shaping the future they desire. Today, the association brings together people from diverse backgrounds: students from all universities, employees, recipients of RSA benefits, volunteers… Far from any particular ideology, we aim to get minds thinking. We want information to circulate and reflection to take place. Opening minds means, above all, enabling people to meet and exchange ideas so that everyone can form their own opinions. Activities and Objectives of the Association Founded in 2015, the Hello World Association aims to provide undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students in computer science, mathematics, and related fields at the University of Montpellier with support, career guidance, assistance with entering the workforce, and opportunities for social cohesion. Our objectives: tutoring sessions, mock exams, and the creation of booklets containing past exam questions; organizing events (student fairs, conferences, film screenings and discussions, computer workshops, etc.); inter-association projects (social evenings, happy hours, orientation weekends, fairs, etc.); administrative and financial support for student projects; student representation and mediation.

Music at the University of Science and Technology (MUST)

Activities and Objectives of the Association The MUST association is open to all student musicians. It offers rehearsal space at its facilities and provides opportunities to participate in its concerts. A meeting (in October) brings members together to form a band. The association also welcomes already-formed bands. A team spirit is essential to join MUST!

Ma’LICE – Chemistry Division

Activities and Objectives of the Association The Ma’LICE association brings together all chemistry students at the University of Montpellier, as well as alumni. As a true professional network, the association helps chemists in their search for jobs, internships, or thesis opportunities. Ma’LICE offers the following services to all members: access to past exam papers; an educational resource center; 50 free printouts; and the sale of professional equipment (lab coats, safety goggles, etc.). Membership is free for everyone.

Montpellier University Symphony Orchestra (OSUM)

Activities and Goals of the Association Do you play music? Do you enjoy social gatherings? Come join the Montpellier University Symphony Orchestra! This orchestra is made up of about 60 musicians and welcomes students, faculty, researchers, as well as amateur musicians from outside the academic community. The OSUM performs about ten concerts a year, both in the city and throughout the region. The highlight concert of the year takes place in late November at the Opéra Comédie, to benefit La Ligue contre le cancer. The symphony orchestra rehearses every Wednesday from 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. in Lecture Hall 5.06 of the Faculty of Sciences. We’re recruiting woodwind and string players—feel free to visit the OSUM website for more information. We’ll be there during the new student orientation day and at the Antigone student club fair. Activities and Objectives of the Association The Objectif Terre association brings together undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students in earth and water sciences at the University of Montpellier. Objectif Terre supports students in their academic lives through group purchases of supplies and by providing past exam papers. Activities and Objectives of the Association As a key player in student life at Polytech Montpellier, the Student Council (BDE) includes: A Sports Council (BDS Polytech Montpellier) that manages all of the school’s sports activities and organizes major intercollegiate competitions. An Arts Council (BDA Polytech Montpellier) comprising clubs for music, dance, theater, photography, and more.In terms of sustainable development, students can join Polyearth, a club dedicated to raising awareness about the ecological and energy transition, responsible food choices, the circular economy, and social and civic change. Integrates and represents engineering students within the University of Montpellier. Promotes the BNEI (National Office of Engineering Students) and the BREI Languedoc-Roussillon (Regional Office of Engineering Students) to enable students to benefit from the strength of the engineering student network.
