The PEPITE Deeptech program

Since 2022, theInitium incubator s Initium incubator has been offering a 4-month program (from February to May) designed to detect and provide tailored support for projects based on innovative technologies. The PEPITE Deeptech program1 program is aimed at students, alumni, PhD students and researchers at the Montpellier University Innovation Cluster.

Objectives of the PEPITE Deeptech program

  • enable participants to be supported in the development and promotion of their scientific project by specialized contributors;
  • train participants in the main stages of a project's development (from invention to commercialization) with entrepreneurship training.

Public concerned and conditions of eligibility

  • students, alumni, PhD students, researchers of the Pôle Universitaire Innovation de Montpellier.
  • have a scientific project in line with the pillars: Nourish - Care - Protect ;
  • be available to take part in the training courses, workshops and events offered from February to May;
  • limited to 10 participants.

Training program

4 areas of training are offered:

  • Market research: helping participants determine the needs of their innovative technology and understand its market;
  • legal and intellectual protection of the project: training participants in how to protect an innovative project (patent registration, trademarks, legal protection, confidentiality contracts, NDA, etc.);
  • roadmap and goals: help participants plan their goals for their entrepreneurial adventure;
  • pitch: teach participants the main pitching techniques to better convince stakeholders of their project.

  • convivial get-togethers;
  • testimonials from alumni, partners and entrepreneurs.

  1. Deeptech is the term used to describe young, innovative companies developing disruptive solutions based on advanced research and cutting-edge technologies. The aim? To encourage the valorization of innovation through startup creation or technology transfer.
    An objective that France 2030 is encouraging in 2023 with 500 million euros in funding to boost the development of Deeptech projects.
